The babies are growing so rapidly. Mom is doing a good job of feeding them and keeping them warm and Dad is going a great job taking care of Mom. There are still two eggs in the nest, but I candled them today and there seems to be no life inside them.
Three pineapple green cheek chicks have hatched now. There are still two eggs in the nest and if they hatch I would expect one today. The parents are doing a great job. Dad, however has gotten bored sitting in the nest box all day and he stays out in the flight cage most of the day now. They really are eating well and feeding the chicks well. I continue to provide them with pellets, fresh fruits and vegetables daily and this week made them some fresh baked birdie bread. They really like the bread and having many soft foods for them to eat makes it easier to feed the chicks.
I'm excited to share that the first egg has hatched. They laid 5 eggs total. The next few days should be fun watching them hatch out. We are currently taking reservations for these babies. This is the only clutch of birds we are raising which makes them the center of attention and will be well socialized and healthy.

I love birds and find them to be very rewarding pets. I am a hobby breeder who breeds select species of birds that I feel make the best pet birds and offer very few companion babies to select homes each year.
